Bowling club
THE final month of the bowling season was another accomplished target in the club’s calendar.
By the end of the month, the remaining two matches, ladies’ singles and the mixed singles were played and Mari O’Rourke beat Pam Payton in the ladies match, and David Morgan was the winner playing Pam Payton in the mixed singles.
The club has enjoyed yet another excellent year, with many events, matches and challenges including hosting other groups, clubs and welcoming visitors and new members, but the largest and probably the best event was the dog racing at the Royal Hotel on 21 September, when club member Patrick Martin, and his wife Rose entertained members by producing an exciting race programme.
Thanks to the huge efforts of Patrick and Rose, this was a truly enjoyable and entertaining evening, and better still a great fundraiser for the club.
Other groups who have supported the bowling club during the year are the WI darts team and the Barmouth bridge clubs, among others,
On 6 October, the club held the AGM at the clubhouse, which was followed by the annual presentation of trophies dinner at the Min-y-Môr Hotel.
This was the final meeting of the 2018 season.
Members now look forward to the 2019 season, which will start in April.
The club is now closed until April 2019, when they welcome all to join them in the very healthy, entertaining, fun and friendly sport of bowling.
