THE AGM was held on 23 November. Meirion was sung to the accompaniment of Blodwen Comerford on piano. The president, Jacqui Puddle, welcomed Meinir Lloyd-Jones, county president, and Gwenfair Lloyd-Hughes to the meeting.

Members who went to the county bingo evening had a good time and won a few ‘houses’ between them.

Pauline Roberts won the county scrabble with a score of over 600, and the crafters enjoyed an afternoon making Christmas decorations with Jean Westerman.

The annual reports were then given. Rose Morris gave the treasurer’s report; Pam Payton on sport, Janet Davies on home economics; Susan Wallace on dining out and Val Vine reported on Group Artro and a summary of the speakers from each meeting. They were all thanked by Jacqui. Meinir congratulated the area institute on being such an active, friendly and successful.

Jacqui was re-elected president for next year, Rose Morris re-elected treasurer and Janet Davies has taken over the secretarial duties following the retirement of Val Vine.

The tea hostesses, Anne Vaughan Jones, Gill Martin and Liz Roberts were thanked by Jacqui. The raffle was won by Carol Clay, and the flowers by Sheila Walker.

Members are looking forward to the carol service at Christchurch at 2pm on 2 December and the Christmas dinner at Hendre Coed at 6.30pm on 14 December.
