Bikers

A TOTAL of 500 bikers had pre-registered for this year’s 360 bike challenge for charity and despite terrible weather conditions 365 of them set off on the route from Blaenau Ffestiniog, around Betws y Coed, Bethesda, Beddgelert, and back to their starting point.

The event was kindly sponsored by Ffenestri Cymru Windows with added support by the bike shops in Llanrwst, Bangor and Denbigh and as result a staggering £8,000 was raised to T? Gobaith (Hope House).

Anyone interested in taking part in next year’s event, which will take place on the last Sunday in May, can register at www.ffestiniog 360.com from October and those taking part will receive pre and post ride food, a slate coaster and t-shirt.

One rider will also receive £150 in the free rider prize draw.

THE Blaenau Bowling Club had a 11-1 home win over an under manned Colwyn Bay Legion side and their winners were Martin Hughes, Steven, Ken, Iwan V and Gareth V Jones, Dyfed Owen, Mike Burgoyne and Emlyn Williams and they are at Llanfairpwll this week.

In a recent singles competition at Caernarfon, Stephen Jones lost narrowly in the final and on Sunday he and Mike Burgoyne were losing finalists at the Bethesda Open Doubles event losing to a pair from Bangor and Beaumaris.
