Brythoniad Male Voice Choir

THE choir, conducted by John Eifion and accompanied by Elizabeth Ellis, were among the guest artists at the annual Festival No 6 in Portmeirion on Saturday.

Cymdeithas Bro Ffestiniog

THE English section of the Cymdeithas’ first meeting of the new season will be held tonight (Thursday) at 7.30pm at the community centre.

Michael Freeman will be giving a talk on 200 years of Welsh costume.

The annual membership fee is £8. For non-members, each lecture costs £2.

Cambrian Angling Association

THE association’s annual Glyn Lloyd Memorial Cup competition, which was to be held at Ffridd Lake on Sunday, was called off due to the weather.

THE exhibition by Chris Clunn and a display of the creative work by Sian Northey, Mari Gwent and the pupils of Bro Hedd Wyn, Manod and Moelwyn schools which has been on display since the end of July will come to an end this weekend.

Festival

A WINTER festival will be held at the park between 3 and 10 December.

Regarding details for the hiring of an ice rink for the event, the town council has stated that the rink will be there for seven days, with its owners responsible for installation and dismantling.

The cost of skates and snow and bubble machines will be included in the hiring cost of £2,000.

The company will also be responsible for raising any fees from those using the rink, with a percentage of any profits going to the town council at the end of the festival.

It is also likely that some kind of gazebo will be needed as a shelter in case of rain, the council said.

Library events

AMONG the varied events on this month is a Colouring for Relaxation session between 10.30am and 11.30am on Wednesdays.

That is the same day as Go Online, which offers help with computers from 10am to noon.

On the last two Fridays of the month, between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, there will be board games and jigsaws available.
