Choirs
The Moelwyn Choir was in concert at Betws y Coed on Friday evening, conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones. Accompanist was Wenna Francis Jones and the compère was Gareth Griffiths.
On Sunday, Sylvia Ann Jones conducted the Rhiannedd y Moelwyn Ladies Choir with Awen Roberts as accompanist as they competed in a Choir Festival held at The Venue, Llandudno, a competition of which they are previous winners but this time they were placed fourth out of the six choirs that competed.
Bro
Tonight (Thursday) the November meeting of the English Section of Cymdeithas Bro Ffestiniog will be held at 7.30pm at the community centre where the guest speaker Richard Suggett will give a talk on Medieval wall paintings in Wales.
Fireworks
Hundreds of adults and children turned up for the very successful annual fireworks display which was held on Sunday evening at the Lakeside site.
The event was organised by the Blaenau Bendigedig group who also thank the local Co-operative staff, who gave up their time to help free of charge.

Parking
The majority of car owners in Newborough Street have had a meeting with local Cllr Glyn Daniels to discuss the possibility of making the street a residents-only parking zone.
It is understood a sign would be placed at the entrance to the street and a permit for parking in the zone will cost the car owners £50 per car a year.
As yet nothing has been confirmed, as their councillor will have further discussions with appropriate people in this matter and will report back to the residents in due course.

Mae’r pwyllgor trefnu wedi casglu swm o £55,000 ac felly wedi pasio ei nod ariannol o £40,000.
Bydd y cystadlu yn dechrau am hanner dydd.

The Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition by the Blaenau Art Group until 15 December and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.
British Legion
The Blaenau Ffestiniog branch of the Royal British Legion will be on parade, on Remembrance Sunday, 11 November.
Comrades, service and ex-service personnel, all associations and members of the public, are invited to attend to assist and be on parade. The order of procedure will be under the command of Parade Marshal Gary Williams.
This year, there is a change to the assembly point for the parade.
It will not assemble outside Eurospar in the square, but after the Service of Remembrance at St David’s Church, Blaenau Ffestiniog in the road outside.
At 9.30am, a remembrance service will be held in St David’s Church.
This will be followed by a parade from 10.20am, to the Memorial Hospital and through the town centre, salute will be taken, eyes left.
A service and wreath-laying ceremony, assisted by the Royal Oakeley Band will start at 11am.
Bus available from St David’s Church for dignitaries, senior citizens and people with walking difficulty to Memorial Hospital.
Following the 11am service at The Memorial Hospital, Blaenau Ffestiniog, a service and wreath laying will take place at the Rhiw War Memorial.
Last year’s Poppy Appeal raised £3,143. The poppy organisers Huw Jones, Army Cadet Force, and Peter Scott, Blaenau Ffestiniog Legion would like to thank the community for their generosity and continuing support.
The monthly branch meeting of the Blaenau Ffestiniog and sub branch Sarn Helen take place on the second Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in the Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades Association Club, Church Street.
