Plaque

WITH the former Physiotherapy Clinic in Towyn Road put on sale by the health board, the local British Legion branch have been contacted by the board to take down the memorial plaque, which is on the outside wall of the building, in memory of those local servicemen killed in the Second World War and to replace it if a new owner wishes, and if not, for the plaque to be put up in the Memorial Health Centre.

THE council has announced that it is hoped the work will start this month to set it up.

Library

AS is the norm, the local library has a variety of events for all starting on Wednesday, 20 February, there will be Digital Support between 2pm and 4pm and a week later, on 27 February, from 2.30pm there will be farm animals crafts for children. On Friday, 22 February, there are three events planned with an Epilepsy Information Stand from 10am to 1pm, colouring for all between 10.30am and 11.30am to be followed by board games for all from 3pm to 4pm. To round off the month on Monday, 25 February, from 10am to 1pm, a Multiple Sclerosis Information Stand will be there and entry to all these events are free.

Bloom

IT is early days but David Williams has already announced plans for this year’s popular Blaenau in Bloom competition. The categories include large, small, containers, wildlife, and vegetables gardens as well as hanging baskets and commercial. The key dates for those who intend to take part are that the entry forms will be available at Yr Hen Bost from 3 June with a closing date of 29 June to be followed by the judging on 4 July. It will end with the awards ceremony on 28 July.

Programme

NEXT Monday evening at 8.25pm, S4C will show a programme about the new Memorial Health Centre in Blaenau under the title of Hello Surgery.

Toilets

THE Town Council Amenities Committee has agreed to continue with the present Public Toilets Partnership Scheme with the Gwynedd Council to have a stability and efficient contract with them for the next two years.
