THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts a Quarry Ladies exhibition until 29 October and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.
Town council
THE town council has had discussions regarding the relocation of a new bus shelter at Manod after the original one was knocked down and damaged, for it to be located in a safer area.
They discussed the zebra crossing there being changed to pelican crossing.
The council will also install Christmas lights down to Congl y Wal in Manod.
The new Ie Cymru and red dragon bunting flag has been purchased by the council and has been put up in Rawson Square.
Gwynedd Council has been contacted about a complaint from a member of the public that a plot of trees on land next to Hafan Deg and the former Tanygrisiau rugby club had grown high and obscured natural light at the back of the Hafan Deg houses.
After over 14 years in the post,Ann Coxon has announced that she will be retiring as clerk of the town council next March.
Library
DYSLEXIA Awareness is a topic at the library this month and its libraries week until 12 October.
Then on Tuesday, 29 October, there will be story and crafts with Carys Ofalus between 2pm and 3.30pm.
On Wednesdays, 16 and 23 October from 10am until noon there will be session on digital support and on the 30th a session of Halloween crafts from 2pm until 3.30pm.
On 18 and 25 October between 1.30pm and 3.30pm there will be a digital skills session.
All of these need prior booking to take part; but not so the break time of board games and colouring to relax on Fridays, 10am until 1pm and 2pm until 4pm.

Lights
BLAENAU Bendigedig group has announced that the annual switching on of the town’s Christmas lights will take place on 5 December, and it is hoped there will be entertainment at Diffwys Square at the same time.
Darts
THE local men’s darts team were beaten 6-2 at the RWF club by the Foelas Arms side from Pentrefoelas in a Gwynedd Super League match.
