Planning

THE council has permitted a planning application to install roof lights to the front and rear elevation and bathroom roof at 2 Bron Ddywyryd, Ffestiniog.

Also it has no objection to a revised Proposed Site Plan and Design and Accessed Statement received on the 16 November regarding Y Graig, Market Square, Church Street or to the application to install a 20-metre high monopole supporting three antennas and one transmission dish with three equipment cabinets, one meter cabinet within a surrounding two metre-high palisade fence on land by Y Ddôl, Tanygrisiau the applicant being Vodafone Ltd.

Choir

THE Moelwyn Choir conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Wenna Francis Jones have over the years given many concerts in some notable and unusual locations, but last Tuesday evening they were singing underground at Llechwedd for a Magnox Horizon group who were on a bonding experience having been on and enjoyed their Bounce Below adventure and their joining in with the choir to sing the Welsh National anthem.

I gynnal yr wyl mae’r pwyllgor eisiau codi swm o £40,000. Mae rhai gweithgareddau i godi arian yn mynd ymlaen a byddant yn ddiolchgar am unrhyw rhoddion at y costau.

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition of a range of works in mixed media under the title of Dreams VS Reality - A Creative Journey the work of Catherine Rose and Hannah Hession.

Post

CLLR Mel Goch ap Meirion raised concerns that the post office is to move from its present site on the High Street to Eurospar and that it is a pity the service is moving from the town centre, but it was stated that the level of service is to remain the same with a Sunday opening.

In the meantime the town council is to write to the present Postmaster Gwynn Vaughan Jones thanking him and his staff for their long and tireless service to the community. The date of the move is yet to be confirmed.
