Advice

ON Mondays between 10am and 1pm a representative of the Citizens Advice Bureau will be available at the library to get relevant advice where needed and no appointments are needed to attend.

Choir

THE Brythoniaid Choir conducted by John Eifion and accompanist Elizabeth Ellis were in concert at the National Eisteddfod Pavilion last Tuesday evening which was compered by Tudur Owen and also taking part were the Bodedern school choir, Dyl Mei and Manon Rogers-Thomas, House band led by Osian Huw Williams, singer Hywel Roberts and drumming group Pitts.

Eisteddfod

SINGER Tomos Heddwyn Griffiths of Cae Glas, Cwm Prysor was placed second in the under 16’s boys solo competition at the National Eisteddfod on Anglesey last week.

The pupil of Ysgol y Moelwyn is also a regular solo singer with the Moelwyn Choir at their concerts at Betws y Coed.

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition of the work of the Gwynedd Crafts Group till September 14 and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.

Sport

AFTER opening their Welsh Alliance Division 2 season with against Cemaes Bay on Saturday and a midweek match at Felinheli, the Blaenau Amateurs FC take on Llandyrnog United at Cae Clyd on Saturday in a Welsh Cup first round tie and will be home to Penmaenmawr next Wednesday evening.

The club have drawn Llanrwst at home in the Mawddach Cup and away to Bodedern in the Take Stock Cup dates to be confirmed. The local men’s darts team opened their new Gwynedd Super League season with a 5-3 home win over Abergele at the RWF Club.
