Energy

THOSE residents who might need help with their energy bills, as well as money management and benefit entitlement, can get the relevant advice at the library next Wednesday from 10am till 1pm where representatives of different schemes will be present as part of the library’s Health and Wellbeing events programme.

Gallery

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition of the work of the Gwynedd Art Group until 14 September, and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.

Baton

AS a prelude to the Commonwealth Games to be held in Australia next April, the Queen’s Relay Baton will be in this area on Friday, 8 September, starting off from the Dolwyddelan Castle, then going on the ziplines at Llechwedd.

From there it will be going to Heddwyn’s home at Trawsfynydd, then Dolgellau and Portmeirion where Festival No.6 will be taking place.

Advice

ON Monday between 10am and 1pm a representative of the Citizens’ Advice Bureau will be at the library ready to deal with any relevant questions one might have.

Meeting

NEXT Monday, 4 September, Gwynedd Council sub-committee will chair a meeting with representatives of the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board and the Ffestiniog Hospital Defence Committee at its Arfon Chambers, Penrallt, Caernarfon at 1pm to hear their views about the medical services or the lack of them, in this area.

In the meantime, the Defence Committee is organising a free bus to go there as they are planning to stage a peaceful demonstration outside the chamber as this town will still be without its inpatient beds, X Ray or Minor Injuries Units when the new building on the hospital site will be opened later next month.

Those going to Caernarfon can then gain admission to the Chamber’s public gallery to hear the discussions but cannot air their views.

The men’s darts team suffered a 5-3 away defeat at Holyhead in their latest Gwynedd Super League match.
