Choirs
THE Moelwyn Male Choir, conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Wenna Francis Jones, were in concert at Betws y Coed on Friday evening where they were joined on stage by young soloists Awel Jones and Tomos Heddwyn Griffiths and the compere was Gareth Griffiths.
The Brythoniaid Choir are looking forward to be once again among the artistes at this year’s Festival No6 at Portmeirion as they take the stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Camera Club
THE new season of the Camera Club will begin on Wednesday, 13 September at 7.30pm at the Community Centre.

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition of the work of the Gwynedd Art Group until 14 September and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.
Event
THE latest in the local library’s Health and Wellbeing Events programme will be held next Monday between 10.30am and 12.30pm when Anwen Weightman will be giving a talk on Healthy Eating.
Bloom
ONCE again there were good entrants for the Blaenau in Bloom competitions including a first-ever kiwi fruit plant.
The judges thanked all the entrants and those who helped in any way.
Peggy Preston received the Commercial Trophy on behalf of Ffestiniog Railway whose local ticket office area displays made a colourful welcome to the visitors.
In the Large Garden class Glenys and Gwyn Lewis of Manod won the cup, presented by Cllr Bedwyr Gwilym.
Small Garden winner was Douglas Hughes, who was presented with the cup by Elin Jones, Hen Bost.
Martin Couture won the Containers category and was presented with the cup by Ann Coxon.
Patrick Murphy won the cup for the Vegetable class, presented by Olwen Roberts.
Glenys and Gwyn took the Wildlife Garden class and were presented with a slate trophy by Daniel Griffith, and they also were presented with Over-all Winner’s Shield by Cllr Annwen Daniels.
