Gild complaints

The council receives more complaints about the condition of Cae Gild than the rest of the playing fields together with all the complaints about dog fouling on it.

There is a kissing gate on the field entrance so it is clear that dogs are deliberately left there. It is an offence to let a dog on a children’s playground. After debating the issue the council is to install a mobile camera on the site to try and catch the ones that take their dogs on this field.

The artist and author Remy Dean has an exhibition of a variety of his craft work on show at the Maenofferen Gallery until 13 January.

The Council has no objection to a planning application by J W Greaves for a provision of siz safari style glamping units with associated development including engineering operations at Llechwedd Quarry.

Neither are there objections to the proposed alterations comprising first floor office extension, additional car parking spaces, lay-by delivery shelter, extension to transfer buildings and alterations to a walled compound at the First Hydro Power Station at Tanygrisiau.

Two applications for considerable alterations etc at Cwm farm, Cwm Cynfal were permitted as was the one to demolish existing office building and erect a new office/workshop building for D & C Jones Co Ltd at Old Station Yard, Llwynygell.

Papers

Having been delivering daily newspapers for residents in the Glanpwll and Tanygrisiau area of town the ‘Parti Cylch y Gymuned’ made their final deliveries on Saturday.

Over the years a total of 15 volunteers have been involved and their total now is seven. They have been doing it for 13 years and 34 weeks and only missed out on one occasion when the papers failed to reach the newsagent at Church Street which is closing – that is the reason for them to end their early morning duties.

Also over the years, a total of £15,000 they received has been donated to various charities.
