St Matthew’s Church

THE church was full on Easter Sunday of people celebrating and rejoicing in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The service was led by Rev Canon Stuart bell.

It was lovely to have a lot of the visiting children of families in the congregation joining the regular Sunday school children in the Sunday school den to hear the story and to make Easter Sunday arts and crafts.

The children learned a short hymn, which they sang to the Congregation at the end of the service.

The Easter Sunday Communion Service was a time of happiness and blessing for all who shared it.

There was also beautiful viola music and accompaniment in some of the hymns from Catherine Murray.

Easter biscuits and treats were provided at the end of the service and the children took part in an Easter egg hunt around the church.

The trail was laid by Izzy from the Sunday school. The regular Sunday school children produced a beautiful Easter garden.

Jesus and the other figures, including sheep, flowers, trees and birds, were made from clay and painted after the clay had gone hard.

The board, made by Steve, was painted and then decorated by the children under the experienced guiding hand of Prue Bell.
