SIXTEEN ladies from Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club made the journey into Cheshire on Monday, 13 May where they were met at the Portal Hotel Premier course by their Captain, Susan Lund.

The competition of the day was 2-ball stableford counting the best two on each hole and a penalty bunker in aid of Captain’s Charity, the Stroke Association.

After a little post refreshment from the Spike Bar the ladies returned to the hotel to settle in for two nights with dinner, bed and breakfast and perhaps a little more ‘refreshment’ in between.

Tuesday dawned clear and bright once again with even higher temperatures but thankfully a little more of the breeze which they are used to.

The format of the day was teams of four on the Championship Course, this time with some penalty water which they are not used to.

Worthy winners were: Monday Barbara Reece, Helen Lewis and Lynda Evans; second - Kathy Price, Sue Wilson and Breda Roberts.

Tuesday winners - Kathy Price, Sue Wilson, Sarah Seccombe and Juliet Jones; second - Margaret Roberts, Anna Hubbard, Jean Harrison and Lynda Evans. The individual winner for the two days was Sue Wilson.
