AT their first meeting in November, Borth Senior Citizens welcomed William Troughton from the National Library whose talk and photos of ‘Aberystwyth Through Time’ were enjoyed by members.

The ‘early’ photos of Aberystwyth were sometimes difficult to place and it was interesting to see these together with the ‘now’ photos of the town.

During this meeting Ann Newby (president) presented Betty Horton with a card signed by members and a voucher in appreciation of her work as chairperson since 2007.

A new chairperson will be elected at the AGM in January 2018.

On 11 November members were invited to attend Borth Carnival Celebration night when they received a very welcome donation from the committee.

The next event on the calendar was the Christmas shopping trip on 23 November.

This year the destination was Chester and members and friends enjoyed a good day out.

On Saturday, 2 December, Borth Senior Citizens had a stall at the Charities Fair in Borth Hall which raised funds for the group’s activities during the coming year.

The group are looking forward to the Christmas tea on 7 December, and will end their programme of events in 2017 with the annual
