SECRETARY Chris chaired the January meeting in Gary’s absence.
Apologies were received from Dr Vole. Philip took the minutes in her absence.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and agreed.
Treasurer, Sally, presented healthy balances. She confirmed there were sufficient funds in the business reserve account to cover six months’ current running costs of the hall (sound business practice). It was decided to transfer a £1,000 bequest from the current account to the BRA as this money is to be used for a specific project. The 2017 accounts were belatedly adopted and signed. Sally had researched the cost of installing wifi in the hall and it was unanimously agreed to go ahead.
A replacement ceramic hob had been fitted in the kitchen and new lights in the foyer and cloakroom.
Chris reported on bookings. Sadly, there had been a funeral tea during the Christmas/New Year break.
The usual classes were set to re-start on 8 January with a children’s birthday party booked for 6 January.
Additions to the terms and conditions of hire were finalised.
Film nights re-start on 1 February.
The first three films were finalised; Hilary would order them and the projectionists’ rota was agreed.
Tony reported that there is now the opportunity for local businesses/groups to advertise on the show reel which precedes the films.
Chris reported there would be a public meeting in Llanfair Hall on 8 January at 7.30pm to discuss plans for the 2020 Eisteddfod to be held in Tregaron.
The next committee meeting will be the AGM on Thursday, 7 February, at 7.30pm in the hall.
