A NUMBER of young gymnasts travelled to Deeside Leisure Centre to take part in the Welsh Gymnastics Regional Gymspire competition.
They were eligible to enter either as a Level 1 or Level 2 competing a routine on the floor, along with skills on the trampette and the vault.
All the gymnasts 9 (pictured) had been practicing over the last six weeks, and their hard work certainly paid off shown by the number of ribbons and medals they brought home.
All the gymnasts (except those under eight-years-old) who were placed in the top six overall in each age group were invited to be part of a north Wales team that would take part in an all Wales final that was held in Somersault Gymnastics Centre in Cardiff.
This was the first year that Welsh Gymnastics organised an all Wales final which offered a great opportunity to the gymnasts to represent the north area.
Magi Jones attended the final along with her head coach Lucinda Gibson. She was cheered on by her parents, siblings and the rest of the north team.
Although Magi didn’t manage to secure an individual medal this time, she did receive a ribbon for the north team, coming fourth and had a fantastic experience. She is now looking forward to her next competition.
