Community council
THE chairman welcomed Canon Rev Beth Bailey to the meeting so that she could share the recent news with regard to what was happening with Llanenddwyn Church, The Vicarage, The Stables and the land nearby with the Members. Rev Beth Bailey reported that these by now, unfortunately would be going on the market to be sold. It was not possible to obtain grants to renovate the church and that the members by now had moved to worship in Llanddwywe Church. So as to have an Anglican building in the village an extension would be built on the church hall. Rev Beth Bailey reported further that she had received a letter asking if they wanted to sell the cemetery around Llanenddwyn Church but, of course the offer was turned down and because of this it had become apparent that the cemetery was the responsibility of the Community Council and that she had a letter and deeds stating this. A discussion was had regarding cutting the grass in the church cemetery especially when the church and the other sites had been sold. It was agreed that the Church in Wales officials discuss this with the Legal Department in Caernarfon and that the chairman and vice-chairman of the Community Council also attend this meeting. Canon Rev Beth Bailey was thanked for coming to the meeting.
Cllr Emrys Jones gave details of a CCTV system he knew of that was easy to service and would be in the region of £500-£1,000, but if there was a need to upgrade the camera to see the road outside the cost would be more than this. It was also reported that the sub- committee of the above had agreed that this was the system needed for the village hall with four or five cameras. It was resolved that Cllr Emrys Jones arrange for Dave Bickle and Mike Stretch to make.Concern was voiced that a tree was leaning on Gors y Gedol drive and the chairman agreed to look into the matter.Concern was voiced that speeding was occurring down Station Road and Cllr Eryl Jones Williams agreed to deal with the matter.
The clerk reported that she had recently attending a meeting of the Society of Local Council Clerks in Caernarfon and that it had been of great benefit to be able to discuss different problems with other council clerks from Gwynedd and Anglsey, but the only problem was that this council was not a members of the society and therefore, she would not be able to attend future meetings. It was unanimously agreed to become a member of this society.
