Captain’s day

THE annual captain’s day took place last Saturday, 29 September.

In a keenly-contested competition, Allan Burke won the coveted trophy by pipping Iori Edwards by one point by carding a 53.

Other winners were: Leading Lady: Penny Elsmore, Straightest Drive: David Cook, Nearest the Pin: Iori Edwards, Shot of the Day: Allan Burke and Back Nine: Penny Elsmore.

A raffle was held in aid of much needed club funds with many of the prizes were kindly donated by the businesses in the village.

Whilst the clubhouse is now closed, the course is very much open with an ‘honesty box’ to take fees.
