Fun-raising afternoon tea
A COMMUNITY has banded together to raise hundreds of pounds for a local first response team.
Last weekend, a fund-raising afternoon tea was organised at the bowling club in aid of the village’s First Responders.
Due to various ticket sales, raffle takings and donations from local businesses the charity event was able to make an initial collection of more than £500.
The team received an additional £80 in memory of Michael Lloyd from his sister Sue, and Pat and Derek Parkes gave a further £200 to purchase a further state-of-the-art phone for the First Responders.
The event was organised by Frank and Brenda Hatton with the assistance of a team of willing volunteers.
During the thank you speech by Phil Renshaw of Fairbourne First Responders, he said: “The First Responders would like to thank all involved especially Frank and Brenda for the overwhelming sum raised which totalled in excess of £800.”
