Concert
A LARGE audience attended Glynarthen Chapel for a concert to celebrate the works of William Williams, Pantycelyn (1717-1791), Hedd Wyn (1887-1917) and Ryan Davies (1937-1977).
Rev Carys Ann presided over the event where songs were performed by Côr Caerdydd, with their conductor, Gwawr Owen, and accompanist Joseph Cavalli-Price.
Prof E Wyn James from Cardiff University shared some history and reflection on the work of William Williams while the bard, Idris Reynolds, spoke about Hedd Wyn, the renowned bard from Trawsfynydd.
Also taking part were local artistes, Elain and Lowri, from Ffostrasol, and the children of Glynarthen Sunday School with their teacher Ennis Davies and accompanist Rhian Davies.
A handsome sum was raised to support Croesffyrdd Hafal Crossroads.
Between the sponsorship received, donations and ticket sales, and after costs, a total of £1,600 was raised.
