THE president, Jan Cole, welcomed everyone to this evenings meeting.

They commenced with Meirion, followed by birthday cards to members who had forthcoming birthdays.

Jan introduced the guest speaker for the evening, Daryl Edwards, who would be demonstrating the art of wood turning.

Daryl had set up a lathe and continued to work with a small piece of wood, whilst answering many questions from the members.

Most of the wood that Daryl works with had been locally sourced from the area, Barmouth Bridge, Pensarn, to name a few.

On display were many crafted items, candle holders, pens, Christmas decorations, all produced by Daryl for the members to purchase.

Annette gave a vote of thanks to Daryl on behalf of the members for a very interesting and informative demonstration.

The competition was for a wooden ornament. Thanks to the members who contributed with an array of various items, Daryl had a very hard task to choose a winner.

First prize went to Stella, 2nd Josie, and 3rd Gwen Pettifor.

Refreshments were served by Jill and Lesley, accompanied by the draw for the raffle prizes. First prize Jill, 2nd Wendy (thanks to Daryl for his donation to the raffle prizes). President Jan announced that she had another great grandchild.
