Choral Evensong
Last Sunday’s evensong for Harvest Festivalwas a wonderful occasion with a good congregation present. They heard the augmented choir of 23 voices giving of their very best.
A band of eight bell ringers welcomed the congregation with ringing from 3.30pm through to the start of the service at 4pm.
The service was led by the Vicar, Canon Andrew Loat. The choir was directed by organist and choir master Darryl Walters and accompanied by Ian Rees on the organ.
The Magnificat and Nunc Dimitus were sung to a setting by Brewer in D, and the Anthem was The Heavens are Telling the Glories of God from Haydn’s Creation.
The preacher at the service was Rev Huw Anderson, St David’s Diocesan Missioner.
