AT the end of August, members enjoyed a summer outing to Llandudno.

In September they enjoyed an interesting talk by Jez Danks talking about past things.

In late October they listened to a presentation on North America, as seen by Tony Morgan, as he cycled 12,000 miles across it – although not all at once.

After Tony retired from his job as a biologist, he resolved to go to America each year to follow the national network of cycle paths, his special interest being in the wild life that he could see in this way.

They saw some wonderful pictures and films of beavers, bears, wolves, snakes, creepy-crawlies and many kinds of birds.

Hywel thanked Tony for his talk and then secretary and treasurer Judy Allday made announcements about the November meeting which takes the form of a quiz and the Christmas lunch at Maesmawr hotel.

A delicious tea was prepared and served by Jen Evans, Anwen Hughes, Heulwen Jones and Margaret Jones, who were also thanked by Hywel.

There were three raffle prizes which were won by Gwyneth Davies, Sheila Ray and Gaynor Breese.
