The annual general meeting was held on Wednesday, 8 November, and the guest for the evening was WI adviser Brenda Wright.

The following officials were elected for the coming year: Eirwen James, president; Kitty Jones and Bethan Evans, vice presidents, who also took on responsibility for events and minutes secretary; Shelagh Yeomans, treasurer; Mair James, refreshments and competitions; and Angela Payne, press release and show correspondent.

The outgoing president gave a brief description of the past year’s activities and social events which had been enjoyed by all the members. Eirwen thanked all the officials for their work throughout the year and welcomed the new officials.

Eleanor gave the vote of thanks to the WI adviser and her team of tellers for the guidance and assistance in the election process.

This was followed by a delicious supper provided by the committee.

The raffle prizes were won by Judith Simpson, Mair Griffiths, Maureen Davies and Emma Williams.

The next meeting will be on Saturday, 1 December, when members will gather at the Mustard Seed in Lampeter for a Christmas Tea.
