Llangollen was the venue for this year’s trip on a very hot day in June. Rhydypennau WI joined the club to help fill the bus.

On arrival, members were taken on a canal barge over the viaduct and were shown where Thomas Telford, the famous bridge builder lived whilst the viaduct was under construction.

It was with great sadness that members heard of the death of Regina Jones, who will be sadly missed in the monthly meetings.

Some of the ladies spent time clearing a public path from Llandre to Rhydypennau. A lot of brambles were cut away that day.

Michael Freeman was the speaker for September. His subject was toilets through the ages, which was very interesting. Many of the members remembered toilets at the bottom of the garden. Toilets in some buildings were built over a river or stream so that all the waste would flow downstream; no health and safety in those days.

In October, David Pool will be talking about being a police dog handler. New members always welcome.
