WI

A MEETING was held at the Park Pavilion on Thursday, 6 July.

President Rhian Thomas welcomed all once the business matters were over.

Thanks were extended to Llandysul Paddlers on the success of the trip down the Teifi. Jane Kerr gave an update on the library and events for children during the school holidays.

The theme for the evening was Sportswear, for which members made a wonderful effort with their costumes.

Joan’s Workout provided members with a taster session on armchair aerobics and there was also a ‘60s music singalong.

The competition for best costume was won by Susan James, with Ann Morgan and Dawn Davies in second and third respectively.

A vote of thanks was given by Celia Lewis to the committee who provided the finger buffet, and to Joan for the workout.

The next meeting will be at Tysul Hall on Thursday, 6 September, at 7.30pm.

Church service

ON Sunday, 29 July, there will be an united bilingual communion service at Pontsian Church at 10.30am.

Coffee morning

LLANDYSUL Church’s coffee morning will be held on Friday, 17 August, from 10am to 11am.

Merched Cylch Cletwr

ON Saturday, 14 July, a few of the members visited St Clears to Pethau Olyv, a beautiful shop in the town, where everyone also enjoyed the lovely tea prepared and some shopping.

Thanks were given to Olive for the welcome and the tea.

To end the day the members had a meal in Carmarthen.

Story time

VISIT the library on Thursday, 26 July, at 11am for a chance for children to hear a story, as well as do some craft work.

MU and church trip

ON Tuesday, 31 July, members will be visiting Cothi Bridge Church at 11am and then enjoying a carvery at the Bridge, Llangennech, at around 1.30pm.
