Twine and W[h]ine Group
THE village has a Twine and W[h]ine Group which meets regularly to engage in craft activities. As part of their activities the members entered a quilt they had made in the recent exhibition at Cae Hir Gardens, Cribyn.
This year’s theme was The Planet Suite by Holst. Members chose to take a lighthearted look at the attributes of the planets and to celebrate Major Tim Peake’s stay in space. The quilt features a miniature Tim Peake floating above the colourful applique planets on a dark space patchwork background. Snatches of the ‘Mars’ theme musical notation are in the margins.
The quilt achieved a first prize on 26 August and was third overall for the three days of the event. All involved in the project said they were delighted with the outcome.

Art exhibition
FOR four days in August the village hall was the centre of attention for a very wide-ranging art exhibition featuring exhibits in ceramics, felts, etchings, oils, lino prints, collograph, collages, acrylics and watercolours.
There was a good level of local interest in viewing the many items on display, which featured local and area artists Sue Powell, John Petts, Aerwen Griffiths, Clare Parsons, Ali Scott, Cassie Gray, Dodie and Jamie Herschel, Cynthia Westney and Krystyna Krajewska.
