Plastic Free Day

YOU are asked to support a plastic free day on Saturday, 30 June.

Find Message in a Bottle on Facebook and like and share. Aims of the project are to reduce plastic waste, educate about plastic in the marine environment, community wide litter picking events, engaging local businesses in plastic reduction and improving recycling.

Gardening Club

THE club’s annual coach trip this year is on Sunday, 1 July, to Bodnant Gardens.

The trip is open to non-members and there are a few spaces left.

The coach will leave the car park on Mount Lane at 8.30am and make a short stop on the way.

The cost of travel is £10 for members and £15 for non-members.

There is a £12.50 entrance fee for the gardens but it is free for NT members on production of a membership card.

Only Legs Aloud

ON Friday, 18 May, Lindy and 14 volunteers went for a meal at the Unicorn in Caersws.

Thanks were given to Cath of the Unicorn and Dan the driver from Celtic Travel for all coming home safely from a wonderful venue which was to thank the volunteers for their dedication in the smooth running of the Leg Club.

Carnival events

ON Friday, 22 June there will be a Touch Rugby Tournament, for seven a side teams ( maximum 10 squad size) minimum of one female per team, 10 minute games – minimum of two players 12-16 years old per squad. £10 team entry with weekly Friday night games from 22 June to finals night on 13 July, 6.30pm at the Rugby Club.

Bar and BBQ from 8pm-9pm.

Treasure Hunt

THERE will be a car treasure hunt for the Carnival on Sunday, 1 July, meeting in the Gro Car Park at 2pm, £5 per car, all welcome.

Sailing Club

DISABILITY Sailing and Kayaking Day takes place at Llyn Clywedog on Saturday, 30 June, 10am-4pm. The event is hosted by Clywedog Sailing Club and Heroes on the Water. Enquiries 01686 640305.

Service of Thanksgiving

THERE will be a Service of Thanksgiving for 216 years of life and witness at Longbridge Street Methodist Church at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 20 June. All are welcome.

Bingo

BINGO in aid of the Severn Hospice Shop takes place on Wednesday, 20 June at the rugby club. Doors open 7.30pm, eyes down 8pm, 50p entry for adults includes tea/coffee and biscuit.

Eyes down

BINGO in aid of Maesywennol Residential Home on Wednesday, 27 June at the rugby club doors open 7.30pm, eyes down 8pm, 50p entry for adults includes tea/coffee and biscuit.

Van Institute

THE Van Institute AGM is on Thursday, 28 June at 7pm in the hall.
