Rotary club
LLANIDLOES Rotary Club was host to the district governor, who remarked on the excellent fundraising for good causes organised by the branch.
The meeting was chaired by vice-president John Davies.
At the meeting, two new members were enrolled.
Paul Jones is already well-known in the town as the proprietor of Llani Bikes.
The visiting speaker was Ceri Williams of the Victim and Witness Service, Goleudy.
She gave an informative talk, covering the work of this organisation in providing the bridge between victims of crime and the criminal justice system.
This is an important service, helping victims through the initial stages of shock and then into ways of coping with the aftermath of violence, assault, abuse or burglary.
The meeting also saw the launch of collecting boxes for the charity Guide Dogs for the Blind, in a follow-up to the recent presentation to members.
Fifteen boxes are to be located in business and refreshment premises in the local area.
There will be a coffee morning at Chatwood on Saturday, 11 November, and a sale of art on Saturday, 8 December, also at Chatwood.
