THERE will be an Advent reflection, ‘Days of Waiting’, on Sunday, 2 December, at 6pm at Trinity Church Schoolroom, arranged by CYTUN, Churches Together.

Fundraiser For Yemen

ON Friday, 30 November from 7pm at the Old Mill, open mic fundraiser. Free entry, authentic Syrian Food served. To raise funds for Medicins Sans Frontieres for Yemen.

Lovelight Christmas concert

A CELEBRATION to support everyone affected by cancer and to remember loved ones lost will be held at St Idloes Church on Thursday, 13 December at 7.30pm.

Featuring Sing With Us Llanidloes Choir, Elizabethan Madrigal Singers and harpist Harriet Earls.

Community centre roof fund

TO collect for the fund there will be an event called Fireside Tales With Granddad, a puppet show, on Saturday, 1 December at 2pm. Tickets from Woosnam and Davies or at the door.

Bingo

LLANIDLOES Bowling Club presents bingo at the bowling club on Wednesday, 12 December, doors open 7.30pm, eyes down 8pm.

Rotary club

LLANIDLOES Rotary Club has announced that the coffee morning on 10 November in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind raised £304.31, while the bucket collection at the fireworks display on 5 November raised £1,547.

Members are looking forward to the next major event, the Christmas lights switch-on on Saturday, 1 December.

The Great War

NICK Venti and Nia Griffiths give a talk at the Church Hall today, 21 November at 7.30pm. Entry is free. Arranged by the Arwystli Society.

Christmas Tree Festival

BUSINESSES and organisations are invited to take part in a Christmas Tree Festival in St Idloes Church from 7 to 11 December.

THE Llanidloes and District Gardening Club hold its next meeting on Tuesday, 27 November, 7.30pm at the Elephant Inn, Longbridge Street.

The talk will be on ‘Growing in containers’ by Kristian Hickson Booth, who has worked at Powis Castle.
