Film screening

THE second film in a series of three depicting life in occupied Palestine will be shown at The Old Mill on Friday, 1 March at 7pm. Screening of The Time That Remains is free, but donations accepted towards running costs.

Fundraiser

FOR one night only Phil LeeThomas (as seen in the West End) will perform his Great Welsh Songbook in aid of Llanidloes High School. He performs at the rugby club on Friday, 15 March at 7.30pm. Entry is £10 at the door or £8 in advance from the high school.

Neighbourhood policing

YOUR local neighbourhood policing team will hold a community event in Chatswood, Longbridge Street on Thursday, 21 March. The theme will be ‘Drugs and County Lines’, and several partner agencies will also be in attendance.

Dick Whittington

THE Rhayader Players presents Dick Whittington, a family pantomime, at the community centre on Saturday, 9 March at 6.30pm. Tickets at the door or in advance from the Coffee Bean. One night only, fun for all the family.

Dog show

NEWTOWN and District Canine Society is holding a Companion Dog show at the community centre, Mount Lane on Sunday, 3 March in aid of the community centre. Further details from 01547 529776 or 01686 413420.

Rotary club

LLANIDLOES Rotary Club played host to a visit by District Governor, Steve Martin, at its meeting on Wednesday, 20 February. The district governor also inducted new member Simon Bell and welcomed him into the worldwide Rotary fellowship. Llanidloes Rotary is currently launching its annual giant Easter egg raffle in which local shops, pubs and restaurants are supplied with large chocolate eggs to raffle for selected good causes.

Tickets are still available at £10 each for the gala charity concert by Bridgend Male Voice Choir to take place on at 7pm Saturday, 2 March in the Welsh Calvinist Methodist Church, China Street.

Bingo

THERE will be bingo at the rugby club on Wednesday, 6 March in aid of Marie Curie. Doors open at 7.30pm, eyes down at 8pm. Entry is 50p, which includes tea or coffee.

Tennis club

THE AGM is at 6.30pm on Thursday, 28 February, at the tennis clubhouse. All welcome.

RAFA

BREW for the few takes place at Chatwood, Longbridge Street on 23 March, 10am until 12 midday. Tickets are £1.

Tadpoles

CHRISTIAN fun for babies, preschool children and their carers. Song time, story time, crafts and snacks on Wednesday, 6 and 20 March, at St Idloes Church Hall from 10am-11.30am. Further details from Julia 07768 861377.

Friends Together

COME and join everyone on the second Wednesday of each month at St Idloes Church Hall, from 2pm to 3.30pm, or any part of that time. Meet friends, have a cup of tea, open to everyone of all ages.
