Tadpoles
CHRISTIAN fun for babies, preschool children and their carers.
Song time, story time, crafts and snacks on 3 and 17 July at St Idloes Church Hall from 10am to 11.30am.

BIBS
THERE is a group for mums with babies and toddlers and mums to be.
They have drop-in sessions every Thursday from 11am to 12.30pm, term-time only.
Their Breast Feeding Peer Supporters will be available to chat with at the Old Mill Gallery (next to the function room).
Côr Llanwnog
CÔR Llanwnog meets every Thursday evening at 7.30pm in Clatter Community Hall.
They are a friendly, mixed choir conducted by Graham Marshman.
They sing a varied programme of music, some Welsh and some English and they perform regularly.

Concerts
ON Saturday, 6 July, at 7.30pm Côr Llanwnog will be giving a concert in Llandinam Village Hall in aid of the upgrading of facilities in Llandinam Church.
Go and join and support this important project.

HUNGRY Hippos on Friday, 21 June from 5pm to 7pm at Llanidloes Community Centre.
Feel the pressure as you work together to win. Organised by St Idloes After School Club.
Bring along family and friends for all age fun.

St Idloes Golf Club
ON Saturday, 23 June, Idloes Golf Club are holding a David Haines Trick Shot Show at 4pm.
Tickets £5 and school children £4, including a barbecue.
Everyone welcome.
Supper club
THERE is a supper club at the Old Mill, High Street, every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.
It costs £7.50 and includes supper and any drink up to £3.50.

THE group meets at the Old Mill at 7.30pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
Novices are welcome, new ideas welcome.

RBL Women’s Section
JANET Hipgrave welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending.
Pat Thomas ,president, said the exhortation, after which the two minutes silence was held.
Joy Smout, secretary, was master of ceremonies, recited a poem by Paul Verlaine, Chanson d’automne.
The mayor, Janet Crisp, spoke of sacrifices made by so many that day.
The Rev Linda Cowan gave a reading from the bible a passage relating to a tree as a symbol of love and held prayers.
Oldest member of RBLWS, Chris Powers, was honoured by unveiling the bronze plaque which was placed by the Oak Sapling.
Barbara Woosnam, welfare officer, presented the mayor and vicar with a 75th anniversary D-Day pin brooch.
The standard bearer, Trudy Davies, Dipped the Standard in ‘act of homage’ at 11am for two minutes silence in remembrance of all who had gallantly served that day.
Paul Jones, ex-sapper veteran, said it was “a fitting tribute by the lovely ladies of Llanidloes Royal British Legion in memory of the brave men who went ashore 75 years ago today”.
The ladies would like to thank Phil Stallard for donating the sapling, Garfield Evans for donating the floral tribute around the tree, and John Smout for help in planting the tribute.
The memorial Oak tree will be a reminder to all who pass what a great sacrifice those men/boys gave and endured for the peace and freedom of which we live in now.
