LIGHT and art installations provide a stunning immersive light experience at St Idloes Church, on 6 December, between 4pm and 9pm with free admission but donations to Crisis, helping the homeless in Wales.

The theme will be ‘Guess who’s coming to (Christmas) dinner?’.

Rotary Club back on town Christmas tree duties

THIRTY-TWO members sat down on 20 November to a splendid meal in the Red Lion Hotel.

Following that, Rotarian Ian Taylor walked the length of the table introducing every one present with humours anecdotes. Amongst those attending were five members of the 4x4 Response Wales team, a voluntary charitable organisation that provides support to emergency planning officers, the emergency services, and other organisations when 4x4 vehicles are needed to get people, equipment, and supplies to locations in times of bad weather, poor access, or other emergency conditions throughout Wales.

Their slide show was most informative.

President Tim Chilton gave the vote of thanks, and went on to remind members of the town’s Christmas lights switch-on event on Saturday, 30 November, at which the Rotary raffle prizes will consist of: £100 Co-op vouchers plus at least two sizeable hampers.

Tim also asked for volunteers to cut down and erect the town Christmas tree.

Bingo

THERE is bingo in aid of the Llanidloes Christmas lights on Wednesday, 27 November, at the rugby club.

Doors open at 7.30pm, eyes down 8pm.

Entrance is 50p which includes tea/coffee and biscuit.

Frantic Theatre

FRANTIC Theatre visited Maesywennol Daycentre with a brilliant one-person show from Angela involving puppetry, singing, dancing and comedy (pictured).

Showing limitless energy, Angela entertained an enthralled audience, even finding service users who wanted to join in occasionally.

Arts and crafts sale

THERE is an arts and crafts sale currently on until 24 December at the Minerva Arts Centre.

Open daily at 10am until 4.30pm but closed on Sundays. It is open until 1.30pm on 24 December.

Late opening until 7pm on the day of switching on the Christmas lights in Llanidloes.

100th birthday

ON Tuesday, 19 November, Eunice Hedges celebrated her 100th birthday at her place of residence, Maesywennol Residential Home (pictured).

She was surrounded by family and friends who enjoyed a party with live music and lots of food and drink.
