Rotary Club
LLANIDLOES Rotary Club hosted the world-famous Pendyrus Male Choir on Saturday, 18 March. The performance took place in China Street Chapel and was a roaring success. The choir, which was born out of poverty and strife, has become one of Wales’ most prestigious choral organisations. Inaugurated on 24 May, 1924 the choir is in its 93rd year and the only choir to perform in both the White House and Kremlin. The concert was able to lift the spirits which had earlier been dampened due to cruel defeat in the rugby match between Wales and France. Llanidloes Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who braved the weather to ensure the chapel was full, adding to the atmosphere produced by the men of Pendyrus Choir.
