Fundraising concert

LLANIDLOES Community Centre hosts a grand fund raising concert on Friday, 24 November, 7.30pm.

Côr Meibion Machynlleth perform with Llidiartywaen and Trefeglwys YFC’s, Ian and Roland Davies and Rob Evans.

The compere will be Roger Hughes.

Proceeds to RWAS Montgomeryshire feature County Appeal 2018.

Companion dog show

NEWTOWN and District Canine Society is holding a Companion Dog Show in aid of Finding Forever Homes at the Community Centre on Sunday, 19 November.

Entries from 11am, judging from 12 noon.

£1.50 per dog per class.

Judge: Sue Pulsford, pedigree and novelty classes.

Refreshments available all day, raffle prizes.

Noah’s Ark concert

THE Llanidloes and District Noah’s Ark Appeal for the Children’s Hospital for Wales present a concert at the Rugby Club on Friday (27 October) at 7pm, featuring Llidiartywaen YFC, the Two Gareths, Ken and Jeff, Tom Lovell and Ann Lloyd, Sinead and Sam Williams. The compere is Nye Jones.

It is followed by Mojo Disco. Tickets are £5 with children 16 and under going free, from Woosnam and Davies Newsagents or Les Jones 01686 413125 or Aneurin Jones 01686 413699.

Great Oak

GWYN Griffiths will speak about his new book at the Great Oak Bookshop on Friday (27 October) at 7pm. Refreshments provided.

‘Old Red Tongue, the Anthology of Welsh Literature’ is an anthology of over 300 texts, poems, plays, memoires, essays, extracts from novels and short stories, hymns, eulogies, elegies, medieval prose, political and theological commentaries from nearly 200 writers, covering every period from the 6th century to the present day.
