Côr Llanwnog

Côr Llanwnog is a thriving mixed voice choir which meets on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in Clatter Village Hall under the baton of Graham Marshman.

They recently held their AGM during which John Macdonald, acting chair, looked back over the last year.

Tributes were paid to Colin Leech, chair, who had sadly died on 15 May and at whose funeral the choir sang. His wife, Pamela, was choir treasurer and also a great loss when she moved away later in the year.

Thanks were given to the many members who undertake specific roles. Jenny Milborrow was elected treasurer and Angela Swindell was chair.

During the year the choir sang at Easter concerts in Newtown and Aberdovey; Christmas concerts in Clatter, Carno, Llanidloes and Maesmawr Hall; Trefeglwys Eisteddfod and at a delightful wedding in Llandinam.

Their next concert is on 23 February when they take part in a concert in ‘Musicians for Water’, fund-raising for a village water supply in Uganda, at Llanbrynmair Community Centre, 7pm, tickets £10 for adults, including refreshments.

New members of the choir are warmly welcomed, in particular tenors and basses. Contact Graham Marshman on 01686 412442 for further information.
