Mach Maethlon

MACH Maethlon has announced that January workshops are now well advanced.

On Thursday 10, there will be a cooking workshop at Machynlleth Bowling Club at 6pm, making vegan southern fried chicken.

Two days later on Saturday 12, starting at 11am, there’ll be a pruning workshop at Y Plas.

Returning to cooking workshops at the local bowling club, spätzle German egg noodles with smoked cheese sauce will be on the menu on Saturday 19 while, on Thursday 24, at 6pm, budding chefs are set to make vegan haggis for Burns’ night.

Panto

NEW Dyfi Players’ 2019 pantomime will be held during February half term at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen.

The pantomime is Twm Sion CAT Rides Again and there will be four shows starting on Thursday 28 February, with a matinee show on Saturday 2 March. Dyfi U3A

THE Dyfi branch of U3A – university of the third age – will be holding its first monthly meeting of 2019 at Machynlleth Bowling Club, between 2pm and 4pm on 18 January. The guest speaker, who will give a talk on ‘Street Pastors’, will be Fiona Mann.

Members also have a number of interest groups, which meet mostly monthly at various venues, such as creative writing, book club, gardening, play reading, lunch club/eating out, art, Taichi and Scrabble.

Civic Society

ON Thursday, 17 January, the Machynlleth and District Civic Society’s executive committee is holding its opening bi-monthly meeting of the year at the Tabernacle, Heol Pen’rallt, at 7pm.
