Dyfi Probus

FEBRUARY’S guest speaker, Hugh Ramsbotham, spoke on marking A-Level papers in business studies. Hugh took a business studies course before becoming a teacher in the subject and, in 1997, an examiner.

It was earlier noted that the Probus annual dinner is on 13 March, while the AGM is set for 26 March. The passing of Clive ‘Mr Editor’ Miller just before Christmas was noted in a letter from Christine Miller, who acknowledged with thanks the high number of Probus members at Clive’s funeral. Christine said she appreciated the support and was comforted to know the high regard in which he was held by the club.

On 23 April, Bob Edwards will speak about the ‘Origins of Stapleford’, and on 28 May the group will visit the National Screen and Sound archive at the National Library in Aberystwyth.
