Mach Maethlon
EDIBLE Mach Maethlon used their Wednesday session, on June 19, to distribute their exciting new Edible Town leaflets in shops and cafes around the town, to help people discover and interact with all 14 of the group’s wonderful edible sites.
However, the edible beds were not forgotten as they were checked and tidied during the afternoon.
Many thanks to Ian Clewett of Formation Creative for his excellent work in designing the leaflets, and to the National Lottery Awards for All Wales scheme for providing the funds.
Pool
MACHYNLLETH Marvels (140 points) maintained their upward drive in the North Wales Interleague Division Two curtesy of a 14-frame victory over local rivals Machynlleth Môr-ladron on Sunday, 9 June, which lifted the Marvels into second place just seven points behind leaders Chester B (147 points), who also posted their intentions with a 26-14 verdict over South Flintshire A.
Bowls
ON 13 June, Maglona visited unbeaten pacesetters Llanfair Caereinion in the second division of the Montgomeryshire Men’s County League and, although sharing the rink wins two apiece, lost the overall score by 19 shots. Llanfair retained their super start to the season and collected five league points to Maglona’s two.
Football AGM
PLAYERS, officers and supporters met at the local bowling club on Sunday, 16 June, for Machynlleth Football Club’s AGM 2019/20.
The president, William Lloyd Williams, welcomed all to the meeting and expressed his pleasure at such an excellent attendance.
He thanked the committee, team managers and all who’d helped during the season.
Officers’ detailed reports were presented, including the balance sheet for the previous 12 months, and were received with much thanks. Particular gratitude was extended to those who’d looked after the canteen, seen to the ground and managed the teams.
All officers were re-elected for a further 12-month term: William Lloyd Williams, president; Warren Evans, chairman; Paul Humphreys, vice-chairman; Sion Jones and Warren Evans, joint secretaries; William Lloyd Williams, treasurer.
Closing the meeting, the president said how much he looked forward to a successful season both on and off the playing field.
Pets as Therapy
MACHYNLLETH Community Hospital has registered with Pets as Therapy and is looking for volunteers to visit.

Gerddi Gardens
GERDDI Bro Ddyfi Gardens will be holding a National Meadows Day event on Saturday, 6 July, to celebrate the native wildflower meadow.
Kate Doubleday will give a talk on how to create and maintain a native meadow, and there will be children’s wildlife activities with Jenny Dingle and Fiona Moran.
The local brass ensemble will be playing live music after lunch, and there will be tea and cakes available, as well as plants for sale.
Big Wild Sleep Out
BIG Wild Sleep Out RSPB Ynys-hir 2019 hosted by RSPB Mid Wales.
Just bring your tent and food, and they’ll provide the adventure!
Take part in a whole host of wild activities that can all count towards your Wild Challenge award, including bat walks, bug hunts and marshmallow toasting.
