Bowls
THE club’s Andrew and Nigel Fleming were selected for the Welsh team to play Australia in two test matches in Cardiff and Berriew BC on 15/16 and 18/19 July respectively.
With Machynlleth’s Montgomeryshire County Men’s League Division One match with Welshpool abandoned due to bad weather on 11 July, Maglona travelled to Welshpool for their Division Two fixture with Maesydre and, following a comfortable victory, came away with six of the seven league points.
Machynlleth bowlers are still catching the eye of county selectors as Justin Hinge, Eryl Jones, David Rowlands and a full rink of Bobby Richards, Mark Rowlands, Jonathan Taylor and Andrew Fleming will display their skills against West Glamorgan on July 21.
Kevin Jones, Brendan Rogers and David Rowlands will be on home turf, on 23 July, when Montgomeryshire Veterans CBA take on their counterparts from South Glamorgan.
