Hear to Help
THE Hear to Help drop-in clinic will take place on Friday, 7 February, from 10am to midday in Y Plas.
NHS hearing-aid wearers can visit this Action on Hearing Loss Cymru service for friendly help with cleaning their aids, new tubes and free batteries.
The drop-in is run by trained volunteers on the first Friday of every month.
Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Gardens
AN eight-week beginner’s gardening course every Thursday at Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Gardens, 10.30am to 12.30pm, starts Thursday, 5 March.
It will cover planning your garden, organic and no dig methods, composting, wildlife gardening, fruit growing, natural pest control and seed saving.

Angela Paxton, volunteers’ co-ordinator, reported to a recent meeting that, at the two weekly drop-in sessions, the fantastic volunteers have been working hard to improve and maintain the Plas grounds-based gardens.
“We still have much to do before the sap starts rising, so please do come and join us for some therapeutic outdoor gardening and activities – come to one of our regular sessions on Tuesday or Thursday 10.30am to 4pm.”
Cook Well and Eat Well
THERE’S been a slight change to Mach Maethlon’s cooking workshops; an extra date, a new time and now led by chef Tom Baker.
Module three: ‘How to Cook with Meat and Fish’ at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen secondary campus, food technology classroom on Wednesday, 12 and 26 February, 5pm to 6.30pm. The sessions are free thanks to funding from the Powys Teaching Health Board.

Attendees will learn to cook several nutritious, healthy and filling dishes on a budget, and then eat the meal created at the end of each session.
Dominoes
FORESTERS and Skinners continued to dominate in week eight of the Dyfi Valley Dominoes League 2019/20.
They captured high-scoring wins at Dovey (8-5) and Bowling Club (10-3) respectively. There was also a close-fought 7-6 victory for Wynnstay at Divas.

Bowls veterans
THE bowling club veterans’ meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Friday, 21 February, starting at 7pm.
The meeting is open to all members interested in playing in the Montgomeryshire County Veterans’ League.
Fixtures take place at various county locations on Tuesdays at 2pm.
Council meeting
MACHYNLLETH Town Council will be holding its next ordinary monthly meeting at Y Plas on Monday, 24 February, at 6.30pm.
Formal notice of the meeting will be placed on the council’s notice boards in front of the town library and Plas foyer.
Members of the public and press are welcome to attend.
Mach Panto
MACH Panto presents Pirates Of The Can Of Beans.
Show nights are: Thursday, 20 February, 7pm; Friday, 21 February, 7pm; Saturday, 22 February, matinee 2pm and Saturday night, 7pm.
Doors open half an hour before each performance.
Tickets are on sale from cast members, Dyfi Wholefoods shop and on the door.
Refreshments and raffles available at each performance.
The venue will be Ysgol Bro Hyddgen secondary campus.
Darts
APPROACHING the half-way stage in the Dyfi Valley Darts League 2019/20, Dwynant and Foresters A have opened a clear gap from third-placed Bowling Club.
