A FANCY-DRESS competition with a difference for charity will take place at the Plas Machynlleth and Dysynni Country Fair next month.

Entrants are invited to come up with creative costumes for themselves and their pet, in a bid to raise cash for Guide Dogs Cymru.

There will be three classes, best dog and owner, best horse and rider or leader, and any other animal or person.

Judging will be carried out by a representative of Cambrian Vets, who will ensure the comfort and welfare of the animals before choosing three winners and a champion of champions.

Entry is £3 per class, and all proceeds will be donated to Guide Dogs Cymru, with prizes donated from a number of businesses in Machynlleth, Corris and Aberystwyth.

The event will be held behind the Co-op at the fair from 11.30am on Sunday, 20 August.
