Pensioners club

A meeting was held on Tuesday, 6 November, with Mrs B W Jones in the chair.

She welcomed members and sent best wishes to members unable to attend.

Sympathy was extended to Mr G Jones and family on the death of Mrs B L Jones who had been a faithful member of the club and secretary for many years.

Birthday wishes were sent to Mrs S Watts on her 100th birthday and to Mr I Roberts on his 90th.

Wishes for a speedy recovery were sent to Mrs E Williams following her recent surgery.

Judith from J F Bouquets gave a flower-arranging demonstration which was enjoyed by all.

The trip to Llandudno will leave the garage at 8.30am on Tuesday, 4 December.

Ladies Club

The Fashion Show was a success raising over £550 for the president’s charity Women’s Aid.

Grateful thanks go to Shevonne and their models who displayed clothes, bags and footwear; Bodyshop who brought a large variety of products; and the Nanhoron Hotel for the use of the rooms and help in many ways. Also the members who provided the raffle prizes.

The speaker on 22 November at the Nanhoron Hotel, at 7.45pm for 8pm is Carol Vernau with ‘Christmas canapés’.

Members coming to the Christmas meal are asked to return their menu with choices and money to Sue Carlton at this meeting.

Remembrance service

The Remembrance service was held at St David’s Church and the service was conducted by Sera Jones, the lesson in Welsh was read by the Sea Cadet and Army Cadet, 16 Nefyn School children took part in the service and also Mrs M J Hughes read two poems.

The service by the Cenotaph was conducted by Sera Jones and the wreaths were laid as follows – Alun Jones; RNLI by Second Coxswain R W Jones; Coast Guard by Mr R Lewis; North Wales Police by PSO Iwan Williams; Army Cadet by Miss Dobson; Sea Cadets by Keeley Stevens; and on behalf of the Nefyn Town Council, Arfon Hughes the chairman.
