Dot Clancy memorial

IT has been some years since the passing of Dot Clancy, New Quay’s muchloved village poet and well-known character.

At last, a fitting memorial has been commissioned by the trustees and is now complete and ready to be installed.

Delays were due to drawn out communications of ideas and opinions with friends and family who are spread far and wide.

There will be an unveiling and dedication at the graveside in Llanina church yard at 5pm on Thursday, 22 August (Dot’s birthday).

The funds for this memorial were kindly donated by members of the New Quay community and therefore the trustees would be pleased to see all those wishing to attend.

The donations were so generous that there was enough money to donate £200 to Shelter, Dot’s preferred charity.

Thank you to all those who contributed.
