Camera Club

ON Wednesday, eight members joined clubs from Aberystwyth and Cardigan for a ‘three-way’ print battle, in Cardigan Castle.

The judge was professional photographer, Chris Warren, from Tenby, and Cardigan emerged worthy winners, in a friendly and closely contested competition.

The Thursday evening meeting was preceded by a short committee meeting, to discuss issues relating to the camera club’s website and matter regarding the 2018 exhibition.

The evening proper commenced, with talented club secretary, Morlais, giving, to a full house, a truly fascinating talk, of a trip he’d taken to the Pinatubo volcano, which erupted in 1991, with amazing images of the areas regeneration, and of it’s indigenous people.

At the next meeting, on 2 November, in the Memorial Hall, the club is privileged to have guest speaker, and talented photographer, Alan Squires, to give a practical demonstration of his ‘paint and water’ images, and give members the opportunity to make their own images.

Walkers continued towards Aberaeron for a short while before lunching on high ground with a fabulous sea view.

Soon after reaching Gilfach yr Halen the route continued along the lane to Llwyncelyn, crossing the A487 and following a tarred lane and farm track to Pentre Shams and Llwynderw Fawr.

The final section along a quiet lane re crossed the A487 back to the start point and a visit to the Llanina Arms to finish off with refreshments.
