THE latest community news from Penparcau
The Hub
Penparcau Community Forum has announced its Christmas programme of events.
Events co-ordinator Julie Thomas said: “We are hoping to reach all parts of the community this year; young and old, those who have someone to celebrate Christmas with and some who, sadly, do not.
“On 30 November, The Hub will be hosting a Christmas Fayre from 4pm to 7pm, with a carousel, face painting and lots of stalls to pick up a festive bargain. There will also be a visit by Sgarmes, who will switch on the tree lights and perform at around 5.30pm and a certain fat, jolly gentleman will also be in attendance.
“In September, The Hub exterior was lit up with pictures of Penparcau past and present by local artist, Joanna Bonarek-Gnat. Joanna has kindly offered to light up the Christmas Fayre with festive pictures of Penparcau, which should be spectacular.”
Santa has also promised to pop into Penparcau again. On 6 December he will be making a flying visit between 4pm and 6pm. Look out for the special ‘Santa Stops’ around the village.
Then on 8 December, from 2pm to 4pm, The Hub will be hosting a Christmas party and Santa will be there again at around 3pm.
Julie added: “We still have a very limited number of spaces for our senior citizens’ Christmas dinner at The Hub, on 14 and 16 December thanks to a donation of £150 from the Blakemore Foundation. If you know someone elderly who would benefit from attending, please contact The Hub. Please note, nominations are limited to two names per person.”
