ST MARY’S Church (Church in Wales) - Sunday, 10 November: There will be no service, but there will be a service at St John’n Church, Ystrad Meurig at 9.30am, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 10.45am at the memorial, Pontrhydfendigaid, conducted by the Rev Aled Lewis.

Christmas market

THE annual Bont Christmas market will be held at The Pavilion on Sunday, 17 November, from 10.30am until 4pm.

Entry will be £3 for adults, including mulled wine, and children admitted free.

There will be various stalls, including crafts and gifts, Christmas entertainment and demonstrations, food and drink.

The proceeds will go towards local charities.

Strata Florida

THERE will be an archaeology talk in Y Beudy, regarding recent excavations at Strata Florida, by Dr Jemma Bezant on Thursday, 7 November at 6pm, and on Wednesday, 13 November, it will be ‘Collecting Memories of Bont Local History’ with an introduction and recordings with the National Library of Wales, at 7pm.
