Portmadog and District Probus

TWENTY one members enjoyed at their regular meeting on the last Thursday of the month at Plas Tan y Bwlch, a ‘History of Tourism along the Cambrian Coast’ talk presented by Dr John Hirst. The talk, well illustrated with paintings, maps, documents and period photos, depicted times of historic economic growth and social mobility only made possible by improvements in access and changes in work patterns and earnings for working people beyond the wealthy and privileged.

John has a lively, dedicated and often humerous manner, which went down well with his audience. Probus is open to all retired or semi retired professionals.
