Welfare Committee

£2,780 was raised on 21 October, at the Tanygroes Welfare Committee’s charity evening held at the Emlyn Café.

The committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to make the night a success, especially businesses and people who gave raffle and auction prizes - Brynhoffnant Garage Chuckling Goat, Wynnstay, Castell Howell, Mark Webb, Golwg y Môr, Dewi James, Keith Davies, Siop y Cardi, Awen Teifi, and Apricot Ladies Wear.

The committee also recently donated £300 to the family of a local schoolgirl suffering from cancer.

The money donated is to help with the high cost of travel expenses for the family relating to her hospital treatment.

The next charity fundraiser, in support of Breast Cancer research, will be on Friday, 17 November, at the Emlyn Café where there will be a Ladies’ Night from 7pm till late.

There will the chance to socialise, chat and browse the stalls set up by local companies and businesses.

A chance to get away from the old man and the kids, have a good natter, shop in peace and enjoy a drink all for the £2 admission fee.
